Hrubý, Jakub ; Perfetti, Mauro (referee) ; ShangDa, Jiang (referee) ; Neugebauer, Petr (advisor)
Reference a autorské výstupy pak uzavírají celou tuto práci.

Carbon nanoparticles from South Moravian lignite
Drozdová, Miroslava ; Enev, Vojtěch (referee) ; Pekař, Miloslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of isolation of carbon nanoparticles from lignite, which seems to be their cheap source. The aim of this work is to elaborate a research on the use of coal matrices as a source of carbon nanoparticles and also to design and perform further experiments testing the usability of South Moravian lignite. Based on the literature search, a simple mechanochemical procedure was proposed to obtain carbon nanoparticles from lignite. The lignite was mechanically stressed by the ultrasonic disintegrator with simultaneous action of water or hydrogen peroxide. Lignite has been able to isolate particles fluorescing in the blue visible light, but the process will need to be further modified. However, South Moravian lignite could be a source of carbon nanoparticles.

Kohoutková, Eliška ; Enev, Vojtěch (referee) ; Pekař, Miloslav (advisor)
These bachelor thesis focuses on lignite as a potential raw material for the carbon quantum dots extraction. There was proposed mechanochemical process of isolation these nanoparticles from lignite based on literature search. Lignite was mechanically stressed and subsequently oxidized to hydrogen peroxide. The results show that proposed method will have to be modified but lignite could be used as a feedstock for the carbon quantum dots extraction.
Application of nanofillers into thermoplastics
Žák, Luboš ; Žídek, Jan (referee) ; Kučera, František (advisor)
Bachelor thesis is focused on the search of the state of knowledge in the preparation, properties and applications of nanocomposites with thermoplastics polymer matrix and different types of nanofillers in theoretical part. Methods for the preparation of nanocomposites and techniques used for their characterization are clearly describes. The first method for preparing nanocomposites is an application of nanofiller to the polymer solution with subsequent removal of the solvent. The second method is the dispersion polymerization of nanofiller in the monomer. The last one is the application of nanofiller in the dispersion of ethanol into the polymer melt. The experimental part deals with the preparation of foils for characterization of rheological properties of nanocomposites at first. Polystyrene was polymer matrix and selected nanofillers was applied to the polymer solution and then it was removed the solvent. The second method was the preparation of nanocomposites dispersion polymerization of nanofillers in the monomer. The method in-situ preparation of nanocomposite is based on the thermal initiated polymerisation of styrene in the dispersion of nanofillers with the selected type radical initiator. The third proposed method was the application of ethanol dispersion of fillers into the polymer melt in the Brabender mixer.

The comparison with the reference sample of pure paraffin was also made.
Nanotechnology educational and research center (NanoArch)
Hamdanieh, Livine ; Boleslavská, Yvona (referee) ; Žalmanová, Petra (advisor)
„Science, the Never-Ending Quest.“ The diploma thesis deals with a proposal of science center aimed at promoting science and education in the field of nanotechnology. The aim of the project is to design a science center that will complement the existing building complex of CEITEC Nano BUT but also through its architectural expression represent the value of such institution and enable it to stand out among the existing buildings, allowing it to become the new center „brain“ of the complex. Nanotechnology represents a significant sphere of the scientific world that holds big potential for the future in various industries including architecture and building construction. The aim of the diploma thesis is thus not only to design new science center but also to raise awarness of nanotechnolgy. The design proposal is based on simple geometric shape - circle which is segmented into three parts. Logical shape of circle complements the already existing complex and becomes the new center point "brain" of the whole complex. The symbol of infinity that circle and Mobius strip represent is associated with the never ending scientific research as the science itself is at the end nothing but a "never ending quest".
The use of micro and nanotechnology to develop ultra high strength and high performance concrete with special features
Vlč, Viktor ; Ťažký, Tomáš (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
The use of nanotechnology has become wide spread in all branches of science. Nanotechnology help us to understand microstructure and due to the world has started to produce new materials. One of many examples carbon nanotubes (CNTs). In diploma thesis I tried to find the way of successful introduction into concrete mixture. I was studying influence of CNTs and other nano particles and I was comparing them with referential samples (without CNTs). Also I tested the improvement of mechanical characteristics of concrete. The morphology of nano particles was studied using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The results show that introduction of nanoparticles to results in increasing strength and higher density. That is why High Performace Concrete so resistant and durable.
